About

2009-07-28_22.15.50.jpg

VHS provides a physical space where people can gather to share ideas, equipment, opinions, and beer. Members work on personal projects, collaborate with others, and learn new skills. More than just a studio space, we focus on sharing all sorts of knowledge within a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. VHS is the community garage for a community without garages.

Many of our members share an interest in 3D printers, laser cutting, machining, crafting, electronics, robotics, programming, electronic music, and art. We welcome anyone with skills to share or an interest in learning, and strive to be as open as possible in everything we do.

Like many other hackspaces we operate on a model of do-ocracy. Check out our Code of Conduct and VHS Principles of Unity for how we expect members and visitors to the space to behave.

Physical

We are located at 1715 Cook St. Access to the space is from Cook St, and you will have to buzz #104 at the door. Someone will let you in, if we're open.

778-330-1234 - call us.

Electronic

VHS Talk (forum/mailing list) - the easiest way to keep up to date on upcoming events. This can be made to function like either a web forum or a mailing list, your choice.

Slack - Slack is somewhat similar to IRC, and has replaced our IRC channel as our official member-chat medium. Unfortunately you need to be invited by one of the current admins to get access to it - that's slack.com's requirement, not ours. Information on how to do that can be found on the VHS Talk forum.

We have a great selection of Equipment and Tools at VHS. We'd love to have you join us and get initiated.

If you are bored and want to contribute, here is a list of requested workshops and classes that members would like to see.
